The SoHo Location
It all started here, in SoHo, September, 1977.

This team creates a feast for the senses in an environment where expert customer service and culinary excellence reign. Each department is a panoply of color and abundance that's meant to be touched, smelled and tasted. Our managers are experts in their fields, intelligently editing from a vast array of products to offer the very finest. Each manager works directly with the artisan producers, the farmers, the cattle raisers, the fishermen, the truffle hunters. If you have a question, you know whom to ask.
SoHo Video Tour
George Bernard Shaw once wrote, "There is no love sincerer than the love of food." It was this love that guided Joel Dean and Giorgio DeLuca to open the original DEAN & DELUCA in New York City's SoHo in September 1977. DEAN & DELUCA quickly garnered a sizeable following due to the unparalleled food selection and incredible atmosphere. After an initial New York expansion in 1988, more DEAN & DELUCA locations opened across the globe.

Now, no matter how many stores we open or how many of our customers we serve via our Web site and catalog, the SoHo store still holds a very special place in the heart of all DEAN & DELUCA employees and many of our customers.

Please take a moment to visit our flagship, in the bustling SoHo neighborhood, and meet some of the people that continue to make DEAN & DELUCA an icon - our pastry manager, cheese expert and fishmonger. Bon Appetit!
Convenience doesn't equal compromise here. Take home a dinner that satisfies your cravings for artfully prepared foods, using the freshest and finest ingredients available. Pack a picnic that reflects the seasons. Our prepared food counter is a celebration of the diversity of products made available to us in New York, and of the enlightened palates of our customers. Our recipes, from Seared Yellowfin Tuna with a Mango Chutney to Mini-Meatloaves to Roasted Carrots and Fennel, strike a balance between intrigue and comfort. Our chefs bring to Dean & DeLuca an expert talent for cooking with international ingredients. Take home an entire meal, or pick up an exciting side dish for the Argentinean beef you're planning on grilling, or a bowl of soup to complete the meal you're making out of fresh mozzarella and focaccia.
NEW YORK CAFES
DEAN & DELUCA introduced its first café at 121 Prince Street, in the heart of SoHo's gallery district and at the site of the original DEAN & DELUCA. A stylish and relaxing café that offered exquisite food, decadent pastries and an atmosphere suggestive of European café culture, it set the standard for the cafés to come.

Over the past 10 years, DEAN & DELUCA cafés have grown and flourished throughout New York City. Our comfortable and stylish cafés dwell in several exclusive New York neighborhoods, including Greenwich Village, the home of our University Place café, after which Felicity's DEAN & DELUCA set was modeled; Times Square, where we are nestled in Ian Schrager's Paramount Hotel and Rockefeller Center, where our flagship café has become the silent star of the Today Show. The offerings extend the culinary excellence that emanates from our parent SoHo store, with a variety of the best coffees, teas and pastries available in the city.
