Tuesday, April 30, 2013 - Splash and dash of Lorenza Rose 2012

There's nothing like a little splash and dash visit from my broker to taste the new vintage of Lorenza  Rosé just before lunchtime… this 2012 vintage release is just what you’ll need to keep cool and quenched this summer. Bright, lean and satisfying, the fruit components (Grenache, Cinsault, Mourvedre, Carignane) are the same as the 2011 but the 2012 as a whole is even better. With firmer acidity and a drier palate, this is exactly how I like Rosé- think Domaine Ott but from California, without the huge price tag and produced by the fun, charismatic Michèle Oullet and Melinda Kearny. This mother/daughter team has nailed down producing great-drinking Rose and this vintage is proof in the bottle. - Kerrin Laz, Wine Director
