My grandmother ordered this cake for our Christmas feast. It looked gorgeous. After she told us how much she spent on this little trifle we almost fell over backwards in our chairs, nevertheless we were greatly anticiptaing tasting this conspicuoulsy expensive treat. As we tasted the cake we were quite disappointed in its flavor. It was EXTREMELY bland. Its texture was decent , however, who wants to pay [$] for "delicate textures"??? What a rip off folks. Just Sayin.

The cake itself look great, but at my girlsfriend's birthday,all those who had were really desappointed of the taste; nobody wanted seconds. I was desappointed too, because I was the one who ordered and payed too much for it, hoping to impress them, in such special day.

I was rather disappointed, when I took my first bite. The cake was dry (I followed the directions on defrosting) and, although it tasted fine, not worth the price of the cake. If it had been fresh, I would have liked it much better, although it probably still would not have been worth the money.

Light white cake with subtle vanilla flavor couples nicely with the rose cream. Tiny bursts of raspberry in the icing are another bonus. White chocolate shavings complete the cake with a festive touch.

Allowing the cake to warm to room temperature definitely enhanced the flavors. (I tried both directly from the frig and after allowing the cake to warm on its own.) I also microwaved a slice for a few seconds - just enough to start melting the chocolate - which made the cake seem more moist and further brought out the subtle flavors.

This is a rich dessert. Small servings are filling.

This cake is by far the most interesting cake I have found! The Tahitian vanilla, butter, and rose all come through in perfect balance. This cake is so moist and the raspberry cream is literally "the icing on the cake". Don't pass this up!
