Being from Japan, Ive had many types of matcha cholocolate, and was excited to see this product offered from Dean&Deluca. However, I was somewhat disappointed how the two flavours were so distinct and did not go very well together. In any food, when the constituents are all fighting together for taste, you end up with one busy mess... and that is what this chocolate seemed. Also, [$] is quite ludicrous for the quality of this product. Even with the brand-trust of Dean and Deluca, it is not worth the cost.However, its difficult finding matcha chocolate in the U.S., so this may be your best shot. But remember, that matcha flavored sweets are so MUCH more amazing than what this product can offer.

I had these truffles sent to me at work because I knew the week was going to be stressful. As soon as I tried a truffle, the thin chocolate barrier covered in matcha powder unleashed the rich, creamy and smooth Ecuadorian chocolate which left me wanting more and more. It was hard not to share with people throughout the day but then I snapped out of it and took the rest home with me. I love fine chocolates and these truffles were amazing. They aren't heavy as some chocolate can be but instead they are just the right amount of chocolate in each truffle to allow you to savor the flavor of a small handful and not feel guilty about it. Though I can't imagine how you'd feel guilty indulging in these truffles.

I bought these as a gift for a foodie friend who is impossible to buy for. He recently became a green tea enthusiast and swears by the benefits. He was just delighted when he received the gift, and, even more so when he realized that the truffles were delicious. I tried one and immediately agreed. There were eight of us at this dinner and the truffles were a unanimous hit with everyone. Having one or two of these truffles is the perfect way to finish a meal. They are rich and satisfying and not overly sweet. The green tea flavor is subtle, but distinct.

What an experience… Just tried these green tea truffles and they were unbelievable! The ganache is so smooth and silky that it immediately disappeared in my mouth. The combination of the dark chocolate with the matcha green tea is just perfect, gentle but intense. It took me back to my days in Japan, what an experience! I have to admit that they are superior than the ones I had over there. Most of the Japanese truffles are super sweet, but this were so perfectly balanced.
