I love tea. Not a great lover of flavored tea, but Marco Polo Vert is a special blend of soothing spices, refreshing berries and bedazzling flower scents. All of them enchanting tender green tea leaves of great quality.

We first tried this at a restaurant for which they served the tea with honey (the more honey you add, the more flavor it brings out in the tea) and other spices. This tea is amazing when served in that fashion. But if you drink it without honey you will get a weaker flavor. Normally I don't add honey to tea, I drink it straight, but in this case honey actually works well.

A colleague gifted me a tin of Marco Polo following a discussion about our favorite teas. She described the tea as having a "smooth" taste-- something which I didn't fully understand at the time. I took the tin of Marco Polo home and brewed myself a cup of tea that night. After my first sip I had to laugh-- because I finally understood what "smooth" tea meant. Seriously, this tea has a mellow yet layered taste unlike any green I've ever tasted. It's blissfully aromatic and even looks beautiful (with little blue flowers amidst the tea leaves). It gives a pleasant lift without the caffeine edge of other teas. Perfect tea to unwind with after a long day.

This tea has very little flavor and if left too long (trying to increase flavor) becomes very bitter.
