Given the delightfully eerie skull-shaped bottle, it was an easy decision to stock it at the DEAN & DELUCA store in St. Helena, California just in time for Halloween. But we continue to carry Crystal Head Vodka because of its taste. Created by actor Dan Aykroyd and artist John Alexander, this smooth vodka is produced by the Newfoundland Liquor Corporation--specifically chosen for its purity of land, water and air. Quadruple-distilled, the vodka is distinguished by a final purification step: filtration through 500-million-year-old crystals, known as Herkimer Diamonds. So, you ask, why the skull-shaped bottle? Dan and John believe the joy that is exceptional vodka should only be contained with a mystical symbol. USA
