Our story

Our Chefs bring to the DEAN & DELUCA kitchen an overwhelming knowledge of international foods and how to cook with them and their pantry is stocked with the best ingredients available. The Georgetown location of DEAN & DELUCA highlights regional specialties, such as rockfish and Maryland-style crabcakes made from the morning's catch from the Chesapeake Bay. Locally grown, organic vegetables such as heirloom tomatoes, Japanese eggplant, fresh herbs, fingerling potatoes, Chioggia beets and greens are the makings of many a colorful dish you can take home. Both residents and international guests revel in our nod to the south barbecued baby back ribs, corn chowders, succotash, buttermilk-fried chicken, sweet potato casseroles and corn pudding. Our Georgetown store has been credited as a major contributor to the revitalization of the Georgetown shopping experience. Opening our doors in 1993 with the goal of catering to the international tastes of our neighbors, we have created a tradition that has continued since.
