DEAN & DELUCA Nigella

DEAN & DELUCA Nigella

DEAN & DELUCA's Nigella is great. Toasted in a skillet to heighten the savory flavor of these black onion seeds, an Indian staple. Season broiled halibut or sea bass with nigella and a squeeze of lime; stir-fry with red pepper flakes and minced garlic to flavor broccoli, cabbage or green peppers. Color contrast delivers a bonus with tofu, potatoes, yogurt salads or creamy curried dishes. Comes in a small tin that measures 2.37" diam. x 1.75" high. India

        Comments about Nigella:

This is a spice for fish that is bursting with flavor. Makes a light meated fish dance with delight. The trick is to use it while poaching or other on the stove technique. I used it once while grilling and although the beautiful flavor was there, it was faint.
LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT!

          Comments about Nigella:

I picked this up for its color (dark, purply black) and have been using it for color and a spike of flavor (deep oniony) to various recipes. It kicked up the flavor of a plain old chicken and leek dish and gave some simple noodle soup a bit of a zing.
