This salt box quality was not what I expected, the bottom was very rough cut and not finished off, it was as iff someone made a mistake sawing it and did not finish it off. I sent it back as it was to be a gift. [...] it was just not finished well by those who made it.

I bought this to store Maldon sea salt that I use for finishing dishes. I also have less expensive (and less attractive) but similarly designed boxes. Those boxes are still ok (storing kosher salt and fine sea salt), but the expensive Dean and DeLuca box cracked and broke (it actually popped into pieces) during a period of very humid hot weather.

I do not recommend this box.

Super useful. I gave this as a gift to my mom and she absolutely loves it! She loves buying salt in bulk and this keeps it so fresh. Excellent product as usual!

The salt box is perfect if you cook often. I've always used salt out of a shaker...until now! I fill mine with coarse kosher salt and love having this staple quickly at hand. I'll be giving more of these as gifts to anyone I know who spends time in the kitchen.
