The coarse golden crystals that are left behind retain much of the flavor of the cane and are delicious on cereals and yogurt, in coffee, or as a glaze for ham. Its texture also makes it ideal for decorating cookies and topping desserts. The country is known for it's sugar export and I grew up tasting Demarara sugar in all products. It is very rare to find products from Guyana at great stores like Dean & Deluca so after I found this sugar there, I was very pleased.
