Jean luc Sibille creates this traditionally made preserve uses handpicked and organically grown Cape gooseberries from his own farm in the haute-Saone region of France. The ripe, luscious, slightly tart berries are yellow-orange in color and have an intensely fruity aroma. After picking, the gooseberries are immediately made into preserves in the traditional way, blended with sugar and slow boiled in copper pans with no preservatives or additives. They're then sprinkled with flecks of 24-karat edible gold flake to make a delicate jam that's fit for royalty.
