There's great dipping potential in an expertly soft-boiled egg.
4 fresh eggs
Place eggs in saucepan and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce heat to maintain a gentle simmer and cook the eggs for 4 minutes. (Room-temperature eggs will take about 3 minutes; refrigerator-cold eggs will take almost 5 minutes.)
Nestled in an egg cup, a warm soft-boiled egg makes a gentle breakfast or simple supper. Add toast points or asparagus tips for dipping, or dress it up with a dollop of caviar. Serves 4
