Keever Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2008

Keever Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2008

There are countless wineries in the Napa Valley that produce exceptional Cabs. Keever is one of my favorites. Tucked into the hillside of the Mayacamas Mountain range in Yountville Keever Cab is always a go-to wine when we have wine friends, visiting in the Napa Valley and want to share with them a great Cab. Made by Celia Welch, this '08 will show extraordinarily well if you let it decant for an hour beforedrinking. - Kerrin Laz, Wine Director

Casa Dalla Valle 2005

Casa Dalla Valle 2005

Perched 400 feet above the valley floor in the eastern hillsof Oakville, Dalla Valle was established in 1986 by Gustav and Naoko Dalla Valle. Considered by many to be one of the elite wine growing estates in the Napa Valley, their Casa Dalla Valle 2005 is very consistent with the estate's impeccable history. With only 400 cases produced, Dalle Valle's winemaker Andy Erickson created a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc with deep dark black cherry, crme de cassis, firm tannins and finishes long and surprisingly sweet. - Kerrin Laz, Wine Director

Rudd Oakville Estate Red 2007

Rudd Oakville Estate Red 2007

Vintner Leslie Rudd's passion for producing a world-class wine from his 55-acre property is evident at his winery, in the vineyards and in the bottle. To further his goal of making the best wine possible from his rich, clay soil in the Oakville bench, Leslie hired esteemed vineyard manager David Abreu to work with their talented winemaker Patrick Sullivan. This brilliant 2007 Oakville Proprietary Red is rich, ripe and concentrated, with a seemingly endless finish. We think all of Rudd's hard work shows in every sip of this new release. Production is much smaller than past vintages and we are one of the few retailers to receive an allocation. We highly suggest trying a few bottles while still available. - Kerrin Laz, Wine Director

Sanguis Backseat Betty Proprietary Red 2007

Sanguis Backseat Betty Proprietary Red 2007

Located in the heart of where great Rhone-style blends are produced, Matthias Pippig is doing just that—producing enticing wine offerings that showcase his ability to draw the best qualities from the Central Coast. His current offering, Backseat Betty is a blend of opulent Syrah, Grenache and a little Viognier for lift. Give it a half-hour in the bottle after opening and you'll find it will start to show its potential almost immediately. As Matthias will say, there are no formulas and no sequels with his offerings. We'd like to add that there are also few other Syrah blends as good as this. 175 cases produced.

Dalla Valle Collina Dalla Valle Cabernet Sauvignon 2008

Dalla Valle Collina Dalla Valle Cabernet Sauvignon 2008

Andy Erickson knows how to make great wine. He's proven just that while working with some of the great wineries in the Napa Valley. His efforts at Dalla Valle are no exception. Grown on younger vines on vintner Naoko Dalla Valle's eastern Oakville hillside vineyard, this '08 Cab immediately reveals intense fruit and velvet tannins. I was fortunate to get a few cases of this higly allocated wine, and suggest you try a few bottles while it's still available. - Kerrin Laz, Wine Director

Sinatra Family Estates 2008

Sinatra Family Estates 2008

At first glance, you might think that once again, we're here with another wine produced by a celebrity. But upon opening the bottle and taking your first whiff, you'll realize this offering is not all flash and no substance. Brought to you by the partnership of Frank Sinatra's children Tina, Frank Jr. & Nancy with John Schwartz of Amuse Bouche and Danielle Price of Wynn Resorts, this '08 Napa Cabernet is hedonism in a bottle. From their 5-acre vineyard in Atlas Peak, this debut vintage is layered with smooth black and blue fruit that melts on the palate. Rich with unctuous tannin, this '08 is a must-try offering. - Kerrin Laz, Wine Director
