New Offering Archives

One word – Schrader. A winery that you hear about all the time, yet can’t seem to obtain at a fair price. That’s because if you are to find a few bottles, they’re at the gray market price, which is typically 3 times the winery retail. Through on-going discussions with Schrader through the last few months, I was able to get some of their new offerings directly from the winery. This is a big deal. Allocation is limited on all of the new offerings and we will fill requests as received.

Other great offerings to note- a DELICIOUS Cab from Montagna Winery. Retail on this incredible Pritchard Hill Cab? $50 per bottle. Also, one of the best Chards I’ve tasted in awhile sourced from Kent Ritchie Vineyard and made by Londer is now available. Ritchie Vineyard is one of the great Chard sites and typically anything coming off that vineyard is a lot more expensive. Their Anderson Valley Pinot Noir release was also impressive and that too is now available.

Schrader Cellars RBS ToKalon Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2009
100% Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from the Beckstoffer ToKalon Vineyard, this ’09 offering is also 100% Clone 337. Aged for 20 months, this reveals intense concentration and an endless finish. Winemaker Thomas Brown has once again given Schrader offerings their trademark intensity and powerful structure with the 2009 vintage offerings.  $280/bottle

Schrader Cellars Beckstoffer ToKalon Cabernet Sauvignon 2009
This Schrader offering differs from the RBS ToKalon Cab in that it is a blend of Clones 4, Clone 6 and Clone 337. In the bottle, that means slightly more structure than the RBS. As full-bodied of a Cab as you will find, this ’09 still possesses elegance. $280/bottle

Schrader Double Diamond Bomber X Cabernet Sauvignon 2009
As a great drinking wine that won’t need nearly as much time in the bottle as the Schrader Beckstoffer ToKalon offerings, this is the wine to try. As vintner Fred Schrader will tell you, this is all about amazing quality and exceptional value. $48/bottle

Montagna Cabernet Sauvignon 2007
Owned by the Long Family (the Longs that own David Arthur not Long Vineyard), this is delicious Pritchard Hill Cabernet without a crazy expensive price point. Made by Nile Zacherle, we were really impressed with this ‘07s focus and concentration. Montagna is divided into four blocks. For the ’07, Nile used the three most powerful blocks- thus the name Tre Vigneti or Three Vineyards. Highly suggest. $50/bottle

Londer Anderson Valley Pinot Noir 2009
Londer Vineyards is actually the vineyard we are using for our own Dean & DeLuca Pinot Noir. Long considered a go-to vineyard source for Anderson Valley Pinot Noir, this ’09 was showing really well when we tasted last week. Balanced, with the profile of cooler fruit tones balanced with natural acidity, this is a good go-to Pinot. $32/bottle

Londer Kent Ritchie Vineyard Chardonnay 2008
I was REALLY impressed with this Chard when we tasted it last week. Normally, you won’t find a Ritchie Chard for less than $50-$60. Londer managed to create a Ritchie Vineyard Chard that shows the vineyards focused citrus and ripe tropical fruit on the palate but isn’t too heavy. Highly suggest for a great-drinking Chard that drinks a LOT more expensive than its price. $39/btl

Thanks a lot,
