Chris Phelps was the founding winemaker for Dominus Estate and later left to work with Caymus and then Swanson. After more than 30 years of making wine for others, Chris is now making his own. The 2009 Ad Vivum is 100% Cab and comes from the Sleeping Lady Vineyard, which is just south of Keever in the western bench of Yountville. I've heard from a few winemaking friends that this is one of the best vineyard sources coming from the Valley today. Raspberry and black cherry fill the glass with a little spice and granite - the tannins are refined and offer a smooth mouth feel. - Kerrin Laz, Wine Director
