This goes down as one of the most expressive Cabs to date from Kamen. Made by Mark Herold and farmed by Phil Coturri, this Sonoma Cab from their Mayacamas Mountain vineyard is focused, lush and really well-made. When I recently tasted this new release, I thought it showed very expressive notes of violet, cocoa and crme de cassis. This is an exceptional vineyard and if were located in Napa Valley, would easily go for double the price. - Kerrin Laz, Wine Director

Kamen Estate is committed to terroir-driven, small production wines organically and biodynamically grown on the southwest slopes of Mt. Veeder.  The ancient volcanic site offers unique wine growing terrain with high elevation blocks and rocky soil producing ripe fruit, low yields and high quality cabernet.  The property has been owned by screenwriter, Robert Kamen, for 32 years and both he and viticulturalist Phil Coturri have been dedicated to preserving the wildness of the site with as little intervention as necessary.  The result is outstanding wines artfully crafted by respected winemaker Mark Herold.
