Outpost Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 2009

I just got off the phone with Outpost's owner Frank Dotzler to work out a better allocation of his well-known Cab. Made by Thomas Rivers Brown, this Howell Mountain Estate offering comes from their vineyard that rests at an elevation of 2100 feet. Cassis, raspberry and wild berry notes are revealed upon opening and fill the palate with a ripe finish. Very consistent each year, this is one of my favorite wineries on Howell Mountain. - Kerrin Laz, Wine Director
