This is an elegant Cab that showcases the terroir more than many Cabs at this price. Our 2008, deep ruby to garnet colored Cabernet Four Soil Mlange, reflects physiologically ripe Cabernet grapes. The wine is balanced with obvious and intended restraint in terms of manipulation. This wine is terroir driven, with an earthy, mineral quality that suggests the soils from which the grapes came. Complex aromas are suggestive of dark ripe fruits -black currants, blackberries and sweet black cherries interlaced with notes of clove, chocolate and vanilla bean. An immediate sense of body and texture upon entry gives way to flavors of sweet ripe fruit flavors interwoven with smoky, spicy cedar and dried cherries. A very firm structure is just soft enough to be approachable. The wine achieves a superlative seamless balance and a seductive lingering after taste with lovely hints of ripe black fruit.

This wine pairs well with:

  • Beef - Grilled
  • Beef - Roasted
