This 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc release from the 2007 vintage highlights the wonderful fruit from the exceptional growing season of 2007. Steltzner's Claret bottling is always a fun labor of love, allowing the winery not only to utilize estate Stags Leap vineyard fruit but also to work with other Cabernet Sauvingnon and Merlot Vineyards from throughout the southern portion of the Napa valley. Aged for 16 months in French oak, this creamy cassis-laden red is drinking beautifully now with its seamless tannins and supple mix of dark fruit and vanilla oak. - Kerrin Laz, Wine Director

Steltzner Vineyards

Steltzner Vineyards has been in the Cabernet business since 1965. The Steltzner family believes that great wine starts in the vineyards and so they do it all; grow it, pick it and craft it into exceptional small production wines. Nestled on the eastern side of the Silverado Trail, just below the Stag Leap District Palisades, they sustainably farm just under 100 acres. Cabernet Sauvignon is king in this tiny AVA of the Napa Valley, and Steltzner Vineyards was there when it all started; planting the second Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard in the Stags Leap District. “From our grapes to your glass, come experience what family farmers can do in the Napa Valley.”
