Petite Sirah

Petite Sirah

With no genetic relation to the Syrah grape, Petite Sirah also presents a flavor of dark fruit, but is robust, firmly tannic and can actually be brawnier than Syrah. Warm climates (like that in Calistoga) add a distinctly chocolate quality, while volcanic soil, a frequent occurrence in Napa, brings out a peppery flavor in this varietal.
