We had the pleasure of meeting sommelier Richard Betts at the fabulous Montagna Restaurant in Aspen several years ago. Now this is a pricey place, so it was with a little chagrin that we asked Richard about a reasonably-priced bottle of wine for the evening. If we remember correctly, it was from Languedoc and cost less than thirty bucks. Well, long story short, now Richard is in the wine business and here's one of his first American Syrahs. Nice follow up to the Hermitage he bottled for Chave last year.
