Kerrin Laz- Wine DirectorGrowing up on the east end of Long Island in New York, Kerrin was first introduced to wine from witnessing the evolution of surrounding sod fields and potato farms to vineyards of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Chardonnay. While studying at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Kerrin’s palate Read morebroadened, working at the esteemed Crook’s Corner and Anotherthyme in Durham, North Carolina. Through her experiences with working in the restaurant world, Kerrin realized her true passion was the world of great food & wine.

In 2003, Kerrin decided to make wine her profession and began her career with DEAN & DELUCA, where she started as the Wine Buyer for the Washington, DC store. After three years, she felt the urge to broaden her wine knowledge and responsibilities and made the cross-country move to Napa Valley, to manage and create the wine selection for the St. Helena, California DEAN & DELUCA.

Today, as Wine Director for DEAN & DELUCA, Kerrin concentrates her efforts on product selection for the company both domestically and internationally and has become an integral member of the most established and up-and-coming star vintner community. Her palate rivals some of the most esteemed wine critics for California wine and has earned her access to the best of the new introductions in the California wine world. Kerrin is also a freelance journalist for Edible Communities Publication and since 2007 and has been a judge on the wine panel for the Food & Wine Magazine’s American Wine Awards.

Bastille Day Celebration at Marston Family Vineyard - July 2014
Celebrating Bastille Day at Marston Family Vineyard with friends and hosts, Liz Marston and Jamie Leahy, meant another fantastic day on Spring Mountain but this time with some incredible French flair. From the homemade madeleine cookies and macarons that Liz had made for this special day to the older vintage Burgundies and Rhones to Champagne and Sancerre, this was a day filled with our favorite French fare; complete with beautiful California sunshine and good friends.
