Fleuron Chardonnay 2010

#FLE10CH3 | 750mL

We couldn't help but enjoy this wine when vintner Tara Sharpvisited us at our wine offices with the inaugural vintage. A sister label to Capture Wines, this '10 is quintessential Alexander Valley Chardonnay at a great price. Winemaker Denis Malbec, of Chateau Latour and a multitude of great Burgundy wineries, has concocted a rich, inviting Chard fromTin Cross Vineyards, which rests high above Alexander Valleyat about 1600 feet. - Kerrin Laz, Wine Director

"WINEMAKING With multi-generational experience from Ch teau Latour and a personal history in making wine in Burgundy, our winemaking team understands the methods behind crafting classic French-style chardonnay. After a meticulous hand-picking and sorting, the whole clusters are gently pressed using a specific press program, a pure product of the Burgundian traditions. After a 2 day cold settling, the clean juice is fully fermented in French oak barrels at about 60 F in order to preserve all the characteristics of the terroir. The new wine is then aged sur lie for 11 months, and gets gently stirred every two weeks for the first three months of its life. WINEMAKER TASTING NOTES The fruit for Fleurons Tin Cross Vineyards chardonnay is grown at an elevation of more than 1,600 feet above the Alexander Valley. The wine has a golden color and a nose of honeysuckle, lemon blossom and white stone fruit, as well as a generous mouth-feel and a lingering finish. FARMING The grapes used for this wine come from the vineyard sites of Tin Cross Vineyards. Every vine on our estate is organically grown and maintained to meet rigorous field specifications, a practice which yields healthier, more sustainable vines that positively contribute to the longevity of the land and the quality of the fruit produced."
