ABOUT THE WINE ROOM: For Charlotte's ultimate tasting experience, share a glass (or two) at the DEAN & DELUCA Wine Room. Here we serve North Carolina's broadest selection of American wines, with more than 70 different choices available by the glass or taste. We also offer a dozen ‘flights’ or 3-glass tastes to savor and compare. We’re pleased to offer wines from exciting new and small producers alongside the classics of California and elsewhere. The Wine Room is the perfect place to meet with friends, relax and enjoy wonderful wines and food. Our dining room is available for private parties Sunday through Wednesday with three weeks advance notice.
We offer both indoor and patio seating as well as a newly expanded, full service menu with many options to share and sample. Join us in The Wine Room for live music on Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30-9pm. And while you're here, we invite you to schedule a Wine Consultation with our Wine Room Director and Restaurant Manager Ben Eiden. Meet Our executive Chef
Andres Moncayo, Executive Chef, Charlotte
Andres Moncayo has over 15 years experience as Executive Chef, primarily with Dean & DeLuca; an upscale domestic and international gourmet retail store.
During his tenure at Dean & DeLuca, Andres has effectively managed all the departments ranging from prepared food, to meat & seafood, catering, wine bar restaurant and also other perishable food departments during a lapse of department supervisors, increasing their margins by 8-10% under his guidance. All departments consistently exceeding sales over $4.5 million dollars.
Andres’s expertise is creating new recipes, bringing new ideas and innovative ingredients to the company. Andres has traveled throughout Europe, Asia, and the Middle East providing business-consulting on effective team building, culinary expertise and food cost and food expenditures to the new stores of Dean & DeLuca. In addition, Napa Valley and Georgetown Dean & DeLuca have increased sales by 20-25% under Andres’s on location trouble – shooting visits. Prior to joining Dean & DeLuca, Andres was the Executive chef with the Conte Group, focusing on providing upscale menus and increasing sales in each of their restaurants. In addition, Andres has received numerous culinary awards recognizing his culinary innovation.
