Veracruz Vanilla Beans
Vanilla is native to Mexico; all other varieties were first discovered here before being transported to and transplanted in Europe's colonial holdings. These beans come from the Mexican vanilla planifolia
orchid and have a lovely, spicy quality. Cured using an extended method, they begin their processing with a slow, low oven heating, followed by up to five months in the sun, all of which makes them wonderfully oily and uniquely flavored.
